Everyone gets lonely at times.. When you are alone, you are not tied to anything. You are free to do anything and no one will say anything about it. You don't have to worry about saying the wrong thing that will annoy people, nor will people ask you to do things that you feel guilty to turn them down.
But with friends, sometimes you have to make sacrifices and give deep thoughts about the 'proper thing' to do so as not to annoy the other. You will have to care for the other's feelings and sometimes emotions. You may have to console a sad friend when all you really want to do is to lie down or watch your favourite show. But hey, that is what friendship is all about.
